Neighborhood + additional information:

The flat is located near the largest hospital in Vienna, the AKH, and is only a few minutes’ walk from the lively Kutschkermarkt, an originally outdoor market with gourmet organic produce, bread, and meat stands, and many inviting restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. All grocery stores are just a few meters away. Connections to the underground railway line U6 and tram line 40, 41, 42 and 43 are right around the corner. Also nearby is the Volksoper and the Liechtenstein Museum.

The centre of Vienna (Schwedenplatz - Stephansplatz - Kärntnerstraße) is only a short journey by underground or tram or 15 minutes by foot. We can also arrange for a pick-up and/or drop-off service from the airport for an additional 35 euros (one-way).

Transportation:
Coming from the airport we suggest taking a car service to the apartment. 
Once you pass customs (after you pick up your luggage) you will be in the arrival hall. Turn left and walk over to the car service stand (further down the hall on the right side). The last stand (AirportDriver) is the cheapest. You can also book it online. Then a driver will wait for you on the left side in the arrival hall. 
The ride will take 20 minutes.

If you like to take public transportation there are several options. Here is our overview.

Railroad 
Option 1: Schnellbahn S7 to Handelskai, then subway U6 to Michelbeuern 
Option 2: CAT to Wien Mitte, then U4 to Spittelau, then U6 to Michelbeuern 

Bus 
Airport Bus to Westbahnhof, then subway U6 to Michelbeuern 

These rides will take an hour. I prefer the first option but the S7 leaves only every half hour and sometimes the Bus or the CAT train leaves earlier.

House rules:
Generally, this is a humble place with lots of natural materials and light furniture that should make you feel comfortable. Enjoy but handle with care. We expect the use of slippers , socks or bare feet inside the apartment. The flooring is solid oiled oak, which unfortunately is a little bit vulnerable to water. Pease leave your shoes in the wardrobe. Smoking is prohibited inside the apartment but there is a balcony in case you want to enjoy an evening buff. If you want to use the fireplace please ask at check-in for a quick instruction.
